First of all, there’s no harm with it if matuloy man or ndi both are remarkable Filipino rapper/rap group right now pero sa dahilan na may kanya kanyang na silang dinadalang pangalan kaya di maiwasan may ma buong issue or comparison to them lalo na PINOY ang magsisimula ng argument para lang may mapagusapan or may malait in the process, may mapublish sa blog, parte ba sa kung sino may longer exposure dun sa mentioned concert, kita or sa ewan na kadahilanan.
Parang Lebron James lang yan and buong team ng Golden State Warriors, Manny Pacquiao v.s Floyd Gayweather, The Avengers v.s sa nilangaw na Justice League, or dito naman sa hip-hop related Tupac v.s Biggie! Sikat, sabay na sumisikat kaya di maiwasang may comparison or issue. Not saying both mention Filipino rappers eh nasa ganitong antas na pero you get the point.

Ex-Battalion focuses their hip-hop/rap in love stories, struggles in relationships, life itself which the generation of Millenials in the Philippines take a lot of time or priority into. Puro love life, sawi sa kung ano anong klaseng pag-ibig based on their personal experiences sa ganitong topic sila naka center, ganyan na ganyan ang kabataan today and they have the freedom combined with our social media right now. Dun naka kuha ng malaking audience for me ang Ex-Battalion which is very unique kasi naka tutok ito sa klase ng youth natin now. Dimo matatawaran pero napapanahon talaga sila and you cannot take that away from them. You may not like their kind of music but if you were born in this kind of era, you’ll definitely relate somehow.

Shanti Dope on the other hand, a solo artisit na nakikitaan mo ng mala Gloc 9 DNA! Ibang-iba bitaw nya and conisdering the young age nakaka create sya ng ganung lyricism. Mas malalim pa sa love life, mas seryoso, the way he spits it out, lit af. Respected Filipino hip-hop artists knows that and sana nga daw wag lumaki ulo ni Shanti, kasi unique din ang talent na dala nya and can definitely go further to places.
Pero for the true hip-hop fan, hip-hop critics may be or even the pioneers in this kind of music, isa ‘tong malakas na movement that is bringing back the noise in the Philippine Hip-hop scene.
Nagkaka-kulay na ulit ang hip-hop sa ‘Pinas!
and thanks to both of these artists and to all new school who kept on sharing their music with us. Ndi to kasi na kornyhan ka sa isa or me kapit ‘tong isa na ‘to blah blah blah, this is for the love of the music. Much respect to the craft of Ex-Battalion and Shanti Dope.
